Cd Disk Duplication Is More Cost Effective For Smaller Jobs
CD disk duplication is a good choice if there are only a small amount of disks to be produced. With duplication you are able to choose how many disks that you want to copy up to a certain number. If your project calls for under 1,000 copies to be made then duplication is your best way to go. In the earlier days of CD duplication, the type of equipment that was needed in order to produce quality dusks was very expensive. The process was so expensive that the best solution to the problem was outsourcing. Duplication jobs were sent to a duplication house. The alternative was to purchase a duplication system for thousands of dollars which had a dpi less than 300. This was good for handling simple tasks. The better quality duplication was not available with this type of machine. Now days with the tremendous advantages in printers and disk coating duplication, these machines can be successful even against the traditional silkscreen printing which is done by replication. These CD disk duplication machines can cost anywhere from $500 to $5,000 which is a pretty large investment if you are not sure what your needs are. Although these machines can be cost efficient, projects may still have to be outsourced for the most efficient resolution to the problem. Her are some examples of reasons to outsource a project rather than doing it yourself if it involves short run duplication: 1) Do you have enough personnel available to handle the duplication job should you be short on employees at the time? 2) Duplication equipment offers lower print resolution and may not be high quality enough for the project at hand. If not, you should send the project to a duplication company that can handle the job. 3) If your duplication machine stops working, what would happen if it took the a matter of weeks to repair? 4) Another problem to resolve will be packaging the CDs. What happens with regard to printing, assembly, insertion, and shrink wrap? There is expensive equipment involved. Short run companies can only produce a smaller quantity of CDs through duplication, but they can produce them in a quicker amount of time than they can be done by replication. If you need under 1,000 CD copies made then CD disk duplication is ideal. For 1,000 or more copies of the same master, replication is more cost efficient. If you are going to mass produce a CD which could change in just a short length of time, then you will need a duplication machine. For bulk CD copying replication is best. The end process of both duplication and replication are the same. The duplication process is less time consuming than replication. It does away with a lot of the task management and labor, and work is completed in a shorter time.
